For rod adjustment, loosen the adjustment swivel lock screw and ensure the swivel slides freely along the flat end of the throttle rod; if it does not, disassemble the linkage for cleaning or repair.

Start by removing the retainer or plug inside the vehicle and detach the cable end from the accelerator pedal shaft. Then, remove the retainer clip from the cable assembly housing at the grommet and pull the cable through the firewall. In the engine compartment, remove the retainer clip and separate the cable from the pin or stud on the throttle lever using needle-nose pliers. Detach the cable from the mounting bracket by compressing the cable-to-bracket fitting with pliers and pulling the cable through the bracket.
