    Q:
What is the procedure for removing a Fuel Tank for the 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan? Posted by Customer
    A:
The procedure for removing a fuel tank is much easier if the tank is empty. If the tank has a drain plug, remove it and drain the fuel into an approved container. If not, use a siphoning kit to remove the fuel. Start by relieving the tank pressure by removing the filler cap. Then, relieve the fuel system pressure and detach the battery cable. Raise the vehicle and secure it on jackstands. Disconnect the fuel lines and fuel filler tube, making sure to label them if needed. If there is no drain plug, siphon the fuel from the fuel feed line. Support the tank with a floor jack and disconnect the tank retaining straps. Lower the tank to disconnect the electrical connectors from the fuel gauge and pump. Finally, remove the tank from the vehicle.
