    Connect the remote battery cable through a hole in the terminal casing that keeps it safely away from the battery's connection point. Turn the lug nuts on the left front wheel loose, lift up the front of your car, and set it on jackstands before you take off the wheel. Unscrew the push pins and take out the inner-fender splash shield from the area next to the left front wheel. First disconnect and keep safe the black negative battery cable. Then do the same for the red positive cable. Pull out the bracket nut, and the bracket holding the battery into the wheel well. Then lift the battery out of the compartment. Take out the four large bolts that keep the battery tray mounted on the left front side frame rail, carry the tray through the wheel opening to remove it. Soak the battery tray completely in clean water and blow off any remaining water with compressed air. Installation is the reverse of removal.

    Open the hood, disconnect the intelligent Battery Sensor (lBS) connector, then loosen the nut and disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Loosen the nut and disconnect the cable from the positive battery terminal. Remove the battery cover by pulling it straight up. Remove the battery hold-down clamp. Lift the battery up and out of the engine compartment. If you are replacing the battery, make sure you get one that's identical, with the same dimensions, amperage rating, cold cranking rating, etc. Installation is the reverse of removal. Always connect the positive cable first and the negative cable last.
