    Disconnect the accelerator cable from the pedal shaft inside the vehicle and disconnect it from the firewall. In the engine compartment, pull the cable housing end fitting out of the dash panel grommet, ensuring the grommet remains in place. Remove the retainer and disconnect the accelerator cable and cruise control cable (if equipped) from the throttle body. Use pliers to compress the end fitting tabs and separate the cable from the mounting bracket.
