- A:Always replace the calipers in pairs - never replace just one of them. To remove the caliper, start by loosening the wheel lug nuts and raising the vehicle on jackstands. Remove the wheels and then disconnect the brake hose from the caliper by removing the banjo bolt. Plug the hose to prevent contaminants from entering the brake system. If you're only removing the caliper for access to other components, you can skip this step. Next, remove the caliper mounting bolts and lift the caliper from the bracket. If the hose is still attached, support it with a length of wire. To install the caliper, reverse the removal procedure. Tighten the caliper mounting bolts and install new sealing washers on each side of the brake hose fitting. Then, tighten the banjo bolt. Bleed the brake system and finally, install the wheels and lower the vehicle before tightening the lug nuts.Posted by MoparPartsGiant Specialist
