    Q:
How to service the transaxle oil cooler and air conditioning condenser on Chrysler Town & Country? Posted by Customer
    A:
On the later models, the transaxle oil cooler and the air conditioning condenser are interconnected and hence are serviced as a single unit. First of all, pull the connector off the negative terminal of the battery. Next replace the rear and then raise the front of the vehicle and place it on jackstands. Take off the radiator and position a drain pan beneath the oil cooler line joints to avoid looking at dropped transaxle oil. Remove the transaxle oil cooler line fittings you have to first take out the covers of clips and then nut or circlip that is located in the slots of the flange. Screw the lines to shut them and inform that when the oil cooler lines are removed then it is advised to fit new hoses since the connection might have leaked had it not been disconnected. Unbolt the transaxle oil cooler and get it out of the way. If this cooler was taken off to be flushed due to a transaxle failure, get it flushed by a dealer service department, or a transaxle shop since some special tools are required in flushing. Installation is the vice-versa of removal and includes making assurance that new transaxle fluid lines are fitted. Last of all, locate the transaxle fluid and check for the fluid level and if needed add some amount of the fluid.

    Q:
How to remove and install an oil cooler in 3.3L and 3.8L V6 engine on Chrysler Town & Country? Posted by Customer
    A:
To have the oil cooler removed, one has to first disconnect the clamp on the negative terminal of the battery, then drain the coolant. After that loosen the lug nuts, then raise the vehicle and support it on jackstands after that remove the engine oil and oil filter. Remove the upper and lower coolant hoses from the inlet and outlet ports, undo and remove the oil cooler nut and outlet and extract the oil cooler. To install place the flat side of the oil cooler to the oil filter adapter and apply clean engine oil and tighten the fitting to the recommended torque. Change an oil filter and replace the lost oil and then replace the lost coolant in the car's engine. Last, take to full operational temperature, while doing so check and ensure no leakages are present.

    Q:
How to Replace an A/C Condenser and oil cooler on Dodge Caravan? Posted by Customer
    A:
When replacing entire components, additional refrigerant oil must be added equal to the amount that is removed with the component being replaced. Be sure to read the label on the oil container to verify that it is compatible with the R-134a system before adding any of it to the system. Have the system discharged and the refrigerant recovered by an air conditioning technician. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Remove the front bumper cover and grill assembly. Remove the radiator support. Disconnect the automatic transaxle fluid cooler lines from the unit. Remove the refrigerant lines from the condenser. Plug all open fittings to prevent entry of dirt and moisture. Separate the condenser from the plastic clip-type retainers. Carefully pull straight up to release the condenser from the lower clips and then remove the condenser from the vehicle. Installation is the reverse of removal. Make certain to fully seat the condenser into the mounting clips and retainers. Install new O-rings onto the line fittings and lightly coat them with refrigerant oil. Note: Only use 0-rings that are designed specifically for A/C system applications. If you are replacing the NC condenser with a new unit, add 1.7-ounce (50 ml) of refrigerant oil to the replacement. Have the system evacuated, recharged and leak tested by the shop that discharged it.
