The lower bolt and two nuts retaining the heater housing must be removed, followed by the complete heater housing assembly. The foam insulator from the water pipe flange must be removed, and then the flange can be detached. Finally, the heater core can be removed from the housing. When installing the heater core, ensure that all foam seals are in place on the heater core and evaporator coil tubes. Slide the heater core into the housing, engage the tab, and secure it with screws. Reinstall all the components in the reverse order of removal, being careful not to pinch any wiring harnesses between the body and the housing. Refill the cooling system, start the engine, and check for proper operation. Finally, have the air conditioning system evacuated, recharged, and leak-tested by a professional shop.
