    Installation and Repair Tips
    Q:
How to remove and install the crankshaft pulley in four cylinder engine on Chrysler 200? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the crankshaft pulley, first disconnect the negative battery cable from the remote ground terminal or battery. Loosen the lug nuts on the right front wheel, raise the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands before removing the right front wheel. Next, remove the drivebelt. The crankshaft pulley bolt is incredibly tight; use a breaker bar, socket, and special tool #9707 or equivalent to hold the balancer from turning while loosening and removing the bolt. Once the bolt is removed, pull the crankshaft pulley off the crankshaft without needing a puller. For installation, apply clean engine oil or multi-purpose grease to the seal contact surface of the pulley hub to prevent damage to the seal lip and oil leakage. Install the crankshaft pulley, aligning the keyway on the crankshaft with the slot in the pulley hub, and install the bolt, tightening it by hand. Prevent the engine from rotating and then tighten the bolt to the specified torque. The remainder of the installation follows the reverse order of removal.

    Q:
How to disconnect the negative battery cable and remove the crankshaft pulley in 3.5L V6 engine on Dodge Avenger? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the negative battery cable from the remote ground terminal. Loosen the lug nuts on the right front wheel, raise the front of the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the right front wheel and inner fender liner. Remove the right engine mount. Remove the accessory drive belts. Connect an engine hoist to the engine and support it. Remove the lower crossmember. Lower the engine enough to position a large screwdriver through the crankshaft pulley to keep the crankshaft from turning, and remove the pulley-to-crankshaft bolt. Pull the crankshaft pulley off the crankshaft with a puller, ensuring the jaws of the puller only contact the hub of the pulley and not the outer ring. A spacer or long Allen-head bolt must be inserted into the crankshaft nose for the puller's tapered tip to push against, avoiding contact with the crankshaft itself. To install the crankshaft pulley, slide it onto the crankshaft as far as it will go, then use a vibration damper installation tool to press it onto the crankshaft. Install the crankshaft pulley retaining bolt and tighten it to the specified torque. The remainder of installation follows the reverse order of removal.

    Q:
How do you hold the Crankshaft Pulley while removing the center bolt for the 2012 Dodge Challenger? Posted by Customer
    A:
