- Q:Where is the Fuel Filter Located? Posted by Customer
- A:The fuel filter is located on top of the fuel tank, so you'll have to lower the tank slightly to access it. It is recommended to perform this procedure when the fuel tank is empty. If the tank doesn't have a drain plug, you can use a siphoning kit to remove the fuel. Start by relieving the fuel tank pressure by slowly removing the fuel filler cap. Then, disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Raise the rear of the vehicle and secure it on jackstands. Support the fuel tank with a transmission jack or floor jack, using a piece of plywood to protect the tank. Remove the fuel tank strap bolts and lower the tank slightly. Disconnect the fuel delivery and return lines from the fuel filter. Remove the fuel filter mounting bolt and then remove the fuel filter.
