To check the mounts, the engine must be raised slightly to relieve weight from them. Begin by raising the vehicle and securely supporting it on jackstands. Then, remove the front wheels and tires. Position two jacks, one under the crankshaft pulley and the other under the transaxle bellhousing, using a block of wood to protect the components while raising the engine/transaxle just enough to relieve the mounts. Inspect the mounts for any cracks, hardened rubber, or separation from the metal sleeve, and check for any relative movement between the mount bracket and the engine, subframe, or chassis using a large screwdriver or prybar.

For the rear mount, Raise the vehicle. Remove the engine splash shield and downstream oxygen sensor. Support the engine. Remove the rear mount through-bolt and mount-to-crossmember bolts. Install the new mount into the bracket, align it on the crossmember, and tighten all bolts to the specified torque, completing the installation in reverse order.
