Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the set screw, disconnect the electrical connector, and slide the mirror up off the button on the windshield, as the interior mirror fits over a button bonded to the windshield and is held in place by a Phillips head set screw. Installation is the reverse of removal. Detach the mirror bezel or remove the door trim panel as necessary. For power mirrors, remove the watershield and then unplug the electrical connector. Remove the nuts and detach the mirror from the mirror stanchion on the door. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Most electric rear view mirrors utilize two motors for adjustments, one for vertical movement and another for horizontal movement. The control switch features a selector that directs voltage to either the left or right side mirror. With the ignition ON but the engine OFF, roll down the windows and operate the mirror control switch through all functions for both mirrors. Listen for the sound of the electric motors; if they are audible but the mirror glass remains stationary, there may be an issue with the drive mechanism. If there is no sound from the mirrors, check the fuse. If the fuse is intact, remove the mirror control switch and have its continuity tested by a qualified repair facility. Additionally, inspect the ground connections and check for voltage at the mirror when the switch is activated. If voltage is absent in each switch position, investigate the circuit for any opens or shorts. If voltage is present, remove the mirror and test it off the vehicle using jumper wires, replacing it if it does not pass the test.
