The electric side-view mirrors can be adjusted up-and-down and left-to-right using a driver's side switch on the left door trim panel. Models with factory-installed dual power mirrors feature a heater grid behind the mirror glass to clear fog, ice, or snow, and if a heater grid fails, the entire mirror must be replaced. The heater grid switches and heated mirror system indicator light are part of the heater/air conditioning control panel on the dash, and if any of these components fail, the heater/air conditioning control assembly needs replacement. The heated mirror relay is found in one of the fuse and relay boxes. The power mirror control switch includes a Left-Right selector switch to direct voltage to the desired side-view mirror. With the ignition in the ACC position, roll down the windows and operate the mirror control switch for both mirrors, listening for the sound of the electric motors. If the motors are audible but the mirror glass does not move, the drive mechanism inside the mirror is likely defective, requiring mirror replacement. If there is no sound from the mirrors, check the fuse in the fuse and relay boxes. If the fuse is intact, turn the ignition on and check for voltage at the switch; there should be voltage at one terminal. If there is no voltage, inspect the wiring between the fuse panel and the switch. If voltage is present, disconnect the switch and check for continuity in all operating positions; replace the switch if continuity is absent. Reconnect the switch and locate the wire going from the switch to ground; connecting a jumper wire between this wire and ground should allow the mirror to function normally, indicating a faulty ground connection that needs repair. If the mirror still does not work, remove it and check for voltage at the mirror wires with the ignition on and the mirror selector switch in the appropriate position, ensuring voltage is present in each switch position except the neutral position. If voltage is absent in any position, inspect the wiring between the mirror and control switch for opens and shorts. If voltage is confirmed, test the mirror off the vehicle with jumper wires and replace it if it fails this test.
