The intake manifold removal process for 2009 models involves disconnecting the negative battery terminals, disconnecting wiring from the EGR temperature sensor and EGR valve actuator, removing the oil dipstick tube fasteners, intercooler outlet tube, air transfer tube, and air inlet. The fuel supply tubes and lines are then disconnected, along with the wiring from the sensor at the rear of the fuel rail. The high pressure fuel line is removed from the dump valve, followed by the fuel rail. The remaining wiring harnesses are disconnected, and then the intake manifold can be removed. For 2010 and later models, the process is similar, but also involves disconnecting the left intercooler tube from the EGR air flow control valve, removing the EGR crossover tube, and disconnecting interfering wiring harnesses. The oil dipstick tube bolts and intake manifold bolts are then removed, and a new gasket must be installed during reassembly. The intake air heater grids, which are located on top of the intake manifold cover, can be accessed by removing the intake manifold. The heater cable, positive and ground cables, intake air heater manifold bolts, and dipstick tube mounting bracket bolt are disconnected or removed to access the heater elements. The fuel injector wiring harness and pressure sensor wiring harness are also disconnected. The air intake heater mounting bolts are then removed, allowing the heater assembly to be lifted off and the gasket discarded. During reassembly, new upper and lower heater block gaskets are used. The intake air heater relay, located on a bracket in the engine compartment, can be replaced by disconnecting the negative battery terminals, labeling and disconnecting the trigger wires, removing the nuts from the cable terminals, and removing the relay mounting bracket bolts.

Disconnect the negative battery terminals, disconnect the left intercooler tube from the EGR air flow control valve, remove the EGR crossover tube, disconnect interfering wiring harnesses, remove the oil dipstick tube bolts and intake manifold bolts, install a new gasket during reassembly, disconnect the fuel injector wiring harness and pressure sensor wiring harness, remove the air intake heater mounting bolts, lift off the heater assembly and discard the gasket, use new upper and lower heater block gaskets during reassembly, and replace the intake air heater relay by disconnecting the negative battery terminals, labeling and disconnecting the trigger wires, removing the nuts from the cable terminals, and removing the relay mounting bracket bolts.
