How to Replace the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor on Chrysler Town & Country? Posted by Customer
A:
Handle the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor with care as damage to it can affect the operation of the entire fuel injection system. To replace it, disconnect the battery cable, drain the engine coolant, disconnect the electrical connector, unscrew the sensor, wrap the threads of the new sensor with Teflon tape, and reinstall it. For 3.3L/3.8L V6 models, the ECT sensor is located at the left end of the engine on the lower intake manifold. To replace it, follow similar steps including removing the power steering fluid reservoir and ignition coil, disconnecting the electrical connector, unscrewing the sensor, wrapping the threads of the new sensor with Teflon tape, and reinstalling it.
