- Q:How to Replace the Throttle Position Sensor? Posted by Customer
- A:This procedure is applicable to 3.7L V6 and 4.7L V8 engines, excluding Hemi engines with the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) system. The ETC system does not utilize a removable TP sensor. To begin, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Next, remove the air intake duct and the air resonator box. Proceed by disconnecting the electrical connector from the TP sensor and removing the TP sensor mounting screws. Take out the TP sensor from the throttle body. When installing the TP sensor on the throttle body, ensure that the locating tangs on the backside of the sensor fit over each side of the flat end of the throttle shaft. If the sensor fits flush against the throttle body and can be rotated a few degrees to align the sensor mounting holes with the throttle body's mounting holes, it has been correctly installed. If not, remove the sensor, verify the correct positioning of the locating tangs, and try again. Finally, installation is the reverse of removal.Posted by MoparPartsGiant Specialist
