    Remove the nut that secures the battery (B+) cable to the stud terminal on the solenoid, disconnect the B+ cable, then disconnect the solenoid electrical connector from the solenoid.

Also, test the starter relay located in the fuse/relay box in the engine compartment.

Crank the engine and take voltmeter readings as soon as a steady figure is indicated. A reading of 9 volts or more, with the starter motor turning at normal cranking speed, is normal.
