2014 Chrysler 200 Crankshaft Seal Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace crankshaft seal in 3.5L V6 engine on 2014 Chrysler 200?
A: Take off the crankshaft pulley as well as the timing belt. To remove the crankshaft sprocket, use a two bolt puller but make sure that the bolts are fitted into the holes in the sprocket. For removal of the dowel pin use a hammer and punch chisel to knock the dowel pin into the recessed threaded hole in the cranckshaft snout and use a magnet to remove it. Using a hook type seal tool remove the old seal gently without scratching the seal surface of the crankshaft and also observe the installation depth and position of the new seal. Coat the inside lip of the new seal by the engine oil and insert it with the use of seal driver or a large deep socket and hammer in as far as the previous seal. Last but not the least, reinstall can be done by simply reversing the removal steps and insert the dowel pin back in the crankshaft by having 3/64-inch extending out.
