To remove the latch, draw a line around it for the purpose of affixation upon reassembly, and next to it remove the bolts which hold the latch with the radiator support as well as the latch itself. At times, remove the
Hood release cable from the rear of the latch bracket and when fitting, get the latch fine tuned to get the hood to shut with the
Bumpers just slightly squashed. To replace the cable begin by getting rid of the hood latch and pulling the cable off the latch area. Third, eliminate the left side headlight housing and then connect a piece of wire to the end of the cable situated in the engine compartment so as to facilitate the pulling of the new cable. Remove the cable from all the hooks and clips in the compartment and if needed trim some of the clips. The hood release handle can be removed by unscrewing the ones located underneath the instrument panel; to do this, the end of the cable has to be placed into the opening of the latch handle to pull it out. Remove the grommet and pass the cable through the firewall into the cab; then strip off the wire from the old cable and connect it to the new one and make sure that the new cable has a grommet. Pass the new cable through the firewall into the engine compartment and install the grommet and finish the work by unbolting the above mentioned parts in the reverse manner.
