- A:To remove the caliper, loosen the wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the wheel. If removing a front caliper, disconnect the brake hose from the caliper by removing the banjo bolt and plug the brake hose to prevent contamination. Discard the sealing washers and use new ones during installation. If removing a rear caliper, remove the brake hose.
