- Q:Where is the Knock Sensor Located on Chrysler 300? Posted by Customer
- A:The knock sensor for V6 engines is located on top of the block, in the valley between the cylinder heads, underneath the lower intake manifold. To remove it, the upper and lower intake manifolds need to be removed, and on 2.7L engines, the right cylinder head also needs to be removed. The electrical connector is then disconnected, and the knock sensor mounting bolt is removed. Installation is the reverse of removal, with caution to tighten the mounting bolt to the correct torque. For V8 engines, there are two knock sensors located on the left and right sides of the block below the exhaust manifold. To remove them, the vehicle needs to be raised and secured on jackstands. The galvanized heat shield is pulled off for the left knock sensor, and the electrical connector is disconnected. The knock sensor mounting bolt is then removed, and installation is the reverse of removal, with caution to tighten the mounting bolts to the correct torque.Posted by MoparPartsGiant Specialist
