    When replacing, disconnect the electrical connector and hoses, remove the assembly, and for V6 engines, position the Transmission Control Module (TCM) out of the way without disconnecting it. Remove the EGR tube and valve, clean gasket surfaces, and if excessive carbon build-up is present, replace the EGR valve and solenoid/transducer assembly. Assemble the EGR valve and tube with new gaskets, tighten bolts to specified torque, reposition the TCM, install the solenoid/transducer, and reconnect hoses and electrical connectors.
