To remove the crankshaft pulley, first disconnect the negative battery cable from the remote ground terminal or battery. Loosen the lug nuts on the right front wheel, raise the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands before removing the right front wheel. Next, remove the drivebelt. The crankshaft pulley bolt is incredibly tight; using a breaker bar, socket, and special tool #10198 or equivalent, hold the balancer to prevent it from turning while loosening and removing the bolt. Pull the crankshaft pulley off the crankshaft without needing a puller. For installation, apply clean engine oil or multi-purpose grease to the seal contact surface of the balancer hub to prevent damage to the seal lip and oil leakage. Install the crankshaft pulley, aligning the keyway on the crankshaft with the slot in the pulley hub, and install the bolt, tightening it by hand. Prevent the engine from rotating and then tighten the bolt to the specified torque. The remainder of the installation follows the reverse order of removal.
