- A:To replace the pressure cycling switch, first have the refrigerant discharged by an air conditioning technician. Then, unplug the electrical connector from the switch and unscrew the old switch. Before installing the new switch, lubricate the O-ring with clean refrigerant oil. Screw the new switch onto the threads until hand tight, and then tighten it securely.
