Remove the cable from the negative terminal of the battery/ Remove the accessory drive belts. Second, take out the cooling fan assembly. Install a large screwdriver through the crankshaft pulley so as to lock it from rotating and then unscrew the bolt connecting the pulley to the crankshaft. They way of removing the crankshaft pulley is by using a three-jaw puller but it should not be placed on the outer ring of the pulley but on the hub. This means a spacer or a long allen head bolt has to be placed in the crank shaft nose for the tapered end of the puller to apply force on in order not to create contact with the crank shaft. To put the crankshaft pulley, the pulley must be slid as far as it could go on the crankshaft, then use the vibration damper installation tool to make it to adhere to the crankshaft. Last but not the least, replace the crankshaft pulley retaining bolt and tighten the same to the factory recommended torque and essentially reverse the procedure followed for the removal.
